Meet Dr Wayne Kretschmer

Dr. Wayne Kretschmer, qualified as a general practitioner at Stellenbosch University in 2000. He completed his internship at Tygerberg Hospital and his community service at RK Khan Hospital in Durban. Thereafter he worked for 5 years at a 24-hour government emergency unit and day hospital where he was the clinical manager in charge of all clinical matters within the busy facility. Dr. Kretschmer also has further studies in family medicine and emergency & trauma medicine. Dr. Wayne is married to Mariette and has 2 children, Mia and Owen. He is an avid cricket and rugby enthusiast and qualified cricket umpire and rugby referee. His medical interests are family medicine, men’s health, preventative healthcare, management of chronic diseases especially cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and high cholesterol and respiratory diseases such as asthma. Dr. Wayne also has a keen interest in medical training and mentorship.
